Following his triumphant Boris last season, Ferruccio Furlanetto returns to Chicago Lyric Opera in Simone Boccanegra, in one of his signature roles: Fiesco.
Dates of performances: 15, 20, 24, 28, 31 October and 3, 6, 9 November 2012.

 

Ferruccio Furlanetto is also this season’s return to the Bolshoi Theatre in the role of Boris in Mussorgsky’s Boris Godunov on 29 November and 1 December 2012. He had sung the role at the Mariinsky Theater in St. Petersburg in 2011, becoming the first Italian to sing the bass part in this prestigious and demanding theater.

 

He is also re-invited to the Mariinsky Theatre on 28 and 30 December 2012 to sing the title role of Massenet’s Don Quichotte, under the baton of Valery Gergiev, in a staging by Yanis Kokkos.
